Alicia Johnson

Alicia was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and she is committed to serving this community. She obtained her law degree cum laude from Seattle University. While in law school, she worked for two small businesses, a boutique employment litigation firm, and a small family law firm.
After graduation, Alicia practiced law in Kirkland, Washington for over two years in the areas of real estate, business, and estate planning. She moved back to Reno with her husband in 2007, to return to her hometown and be close to family. Since returning to Reno, Alicia has practiced law all over northern Nevada, serving the needs of small businesses and families and gaining valuable experience in the areas of business, real estate, family law, wills, trusts, probate, and litigation.
She established Johnson Law Practice in 2013 to provide accessible legal services to small businesses and families.
Orrin Johnson
Partner
Orrin has been practicing criminal law in northern Nevada for over a decade.
Her grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, where he was active in theater and debate, and worked as a taekwondo instructor. He received a BA in Political Science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in 1998.
After graduation, Orrin served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy from 1998 – 2004. He served aboard two destroyers – as the Electrical Officer aboard USS Russell (DDG 59) and as the Navigator of USS Paul F. Foster (DD 964) – deploying three times in four years. During these deployments, Orrin was assigned to lead boarding teams to search and sometimes seize vessels violating sanctions then in place against Iraq. After his sea tours were completed, Orrin finished his Navy time as the Commanding Officer of Naval Reserve Center, Everett, WA.
Upon leaving the service, he attended law school at the University of Washington – Seattle, receiving his JD in 2007. He then moved to his wife’s hometown of Reno, Nevada, where he worked for the Washoe County Public Defender’s Office until 2012. During that time, he was assigned to be the office’s legislative liaison during the 2009 and 2011 sessions, lobbying on various issues related to indigent criminal defense.
In 2012, Orrin became a Deputy District Attorney, first in Lyon County, and then for Carson City where he worked as a prosecutor for six years. Based on a survey of other attorneys statewide, Orrin has been recognized by Nevada Business Magazine in its “Legal Elite” edition as one of the state’s top public sector attorneys in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. In 2019 he received the same recognition for his work in his own firm.
After 11 years both defending and prosecuting criminal cases in the public sector, Orrin started Orrin Johnson Law, a division of Johnson Law Practice, in Reno, Nevada.
In addition to his legal practice, Orrin is a weekly columnist for the Nevada Independent, writing about law, politics, and public policy.
Andrea K. Pressler
Senior Associate
Andrea was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and is a Fourth Generation Nevadan. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She received her law degree cum laude from Whittier Law School in 2003, where she was also the Managing Editor of Whittier Law Review.
After graduation, Andrea clerked for the Honorable William A. Maupin of the Nevada Supreme Court. Following her clerkship, she practiced with the law firm of Erickson, Thorpe & Swainston, Ltd. for 12 years, where she was a shareholder and practiced civil litigation all over Nevada.
She is admitted to the State Bar of Nevada and licensed to practice in all federal and civil courts in the State of Nevada, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Andrea is also a member of the Washoe County Bar Association, Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association (Past President), Bruce R. Thompson American Inn of Court, and Prospectors Club. She holds the preeminent peer-review rating of AV for ethical standards and legal ability from Martindale-Hubbell and has received the following recognitions: Reno Gazette Journal’s Twenty Under 40 (2010), Nevada Business Magazine Northern Nevada’s Top 25 Attorneys (2012) and Nevada Business Magazine’s Legal Elite (2013–17).
Andrea joined Johnson Law Practice in 2017, and her goal is to provide knowledgeable and efficient services to our community in the areas of Estate Planning (Trusts, Wills and Powers of Attorney) and Probate.
Alexandra Dyer
Associate
Alexandra grew up in Reno, Nevada. She graduated from Reno High School, where she was a competitive swimmer and diver, and wrote for the school newspaper. She then attended Boise State University, graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice and Business Administration.
Following graduation, she interned with the Reno City Attorney’s Office, where she observed and worked on both criminal and civil matters, gaining an insider’s view of the criminal prosecution process. She also worked for Johnson Law Practice, the parent firm of Orrin Johnson Law.
Alexandra attended law school at Willamette University in Oregon, where she was the vice president of the prestigious Phi Alpha Delta professional fraternity. As a law student, she assisted indigent clients as part of Willamette’s Clinical Law Program – Family Division, and worked in a civil law firm which handled personal injury and business matters. She also served as a legal intern for Second Judicial District Court Judge Barry Breslow in Reno.
She earned her law degree and was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2020. She returned to Reno full time, working for Johnson Law Practice/Orrin Johnson Law. In addition to working on estate planning and business matters, Alexandra has successfully represented clients in all types of criminal cases, from traffic tickets to major drug trafficking charges to homicide.
Virginia O'Neill
Paralegal / Certified Legal Assistant
Virginia is from Kauai, Hawaii and resides in Carson City, Nevada. She has been a paralegal for over 20 years, and started working for Johnson Law Practice in March of 2015. Virginia has earned her Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) as well as her Advanced Certified Legal Assistant (CLAS) certificate with the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). She enjoys her interactions with the attorneys, staff, and clients.
Beth Anne
Legal Assistant
Beth Anne was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. She has worked as a legal assistant for over 20 years, mainly with criminal defense attorneys, and in April of 2002, she joined Johnson Law Practice. Beth Anne has an Associate’s Degree in Business with a Legal Minor from the Career College of Northern Nevada.
